Maybe Cyber Duck / Mountain Duck could help with this sort of thing too?

I would not mind to add some search directly within surfer, this would probably be much better than having to use some 3rd party webdav crawler or such. I do not really have any experience with file indexers though, if anyone has, please let me know about the options on Linux.

Yes, search in Surfer would be great!

(I just wanted to search https://library.uniteddiversity.coop to see if I had a particular file up there but then realised I couldn't - well, I can really because I've got it mounted locally, but really I'd like anyone to be able to search directly on Surfer ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

@jdaviescoates might be best to use a crawler on your site to index the collection. Even more so to pick up data from inside the file contents.

                Nice library btw ๐Ÿ‘

@robi yeah, it's indexed pretty well by search engines already. Would still be nice for people to be able to search it if they visit it directly too.

@jdaviescoates make a page that embeds a preconfigured URL to search only your site.

this may be an interesting alternative with lots of features built in, search being one of them..
