Flarum - next-generation forum

I can't tell what the point of view of the Cloudron Team is in regards to apps requiring a LAMP stack - which is available as an One-Click-Solution already. I'm not sure if it is worth the hassle to create a Cloudron package for applications based upon LAMP since the installation process is quite trivial in most cases. Of course autoupdates, usermanagement, et al. would be decoupled from the cloudron management interface in this scenario.

+1 for this.

Man this looks great.
-
Some work has been done on an LDAP extension too.
-
Looking forward to this having a stable release!
-
The developers guess a stable release will be out before the summer, so not long!
-
@nikkuexe Interesting. I've been watching this on & off but progress seemed to have been slow, even non-existent. So that's great news !
Having experienced this forum using NodeBB, I am not too sure if Flarum is better, but will take another look.
-
@timconsidine NodeBB is great but I've spotted this forum running slow often so Flarum might be a better choice if it's lighter on resources (which I think it is).
-
@Staff @appdev it'd be great to get Flarum packaged now that it's been released as stable!

https://docs.flarum.org/install.html(and to add LDAP to Discourse and NodeBB too, of course )

@jdaviescoates Flarum does not have LDAP, does it? (atleast, not afaict)

I didn't actually check, it's just whenever I mention anything to do with forums I like to slip in my request for LDAP for Discourse too because I'd really like that
The main thing Flarum has going for it is it's a nicely designed forum with low resource requirements.
-
We've gone off topic (my bad) @robi, but I'd like to use Discourse pretty much like Discourse for Teams.
But I'd also like to use LDAP for more public forums too.
What I want is exactly what is already achievable with Rocket.Chat, i.e. team members can login using their Cloudron credentials using LDAP, but other people can also separately simply register on Rocket.Chat too.
At present it's annoying and confusing for my users that they can use their Cloudron login for all the apps we use apart from Discourse.

1.1.1 came out a while ago
https://discuss.flarum.org/d/29188-flarum-110-released
https://github.com/flarum/core/releases/tag/v1.1.1
There are some very big communities using it already, see showcase section on https://flarum.org/
I'd say this is good to go!
Any @appdev up for giving it a go?
