      Hey colleagues,

I am in the process of setting up a community infrastructure with apps available on Cloudron.

      • community calls/meetings (via Jitsi)
      • Newsletter list-serve (Mailtrain)
      • number of e-courses (via Moodle)
      • community chat (via Element, or Matrix)
      • … other recommended globally inclusive community tools and features?

      My questions are:

      1. Will there be a group size limit for some of the features?
      2. is it possible to run several separate communities/groups? I guess via separate mailing lists or Moodle courses and parallel group chats
      3. is there anyone here from the Cloudron support team or another user who can help me out with setting the systems up? I had made naive attempts e.g. with Moodle and encountered some issues.

I understand that this would incur additional costs, while at the same time would help me tremendously in setting things up and getting started to deliver my services to the users.
      Best wishes
      Jo.

@johav I guess you are asking what our subscription covers and what the limits are? Assuming that's the case, I have tried my best to answer your questions:

Will there be a group size limit for some of the features?

There's no limit on group sizes.

is it possible to run several separate communities/groups? I guess via separate mailing lists or Moodle courses and parallel group chats

It's best to keep each community in separate cloudron installations/servers. We tend to think of "groups" in cloudron as part of the same organization. Having totally different communities on the same server can sometimes cause surprises with respect to user/mailbox management.

is there anyone here from the Cloudron support team or another user who can help me out with setting the systems up? I had made naive attempts e.g. with Moodle and encountered some issues.

This forum is the right place to ask questions. We have a separate section for each of the apps. For moodle, just ask under moodle - https://forum.cloudron.io/category/102/moodle . For anything else, just use this support section, happy to help.

@girish thanks so much for your response and answers to my questions.
Not for me to spend too much time on setting up all the applications for how I want to serve my community, do you know anyone who might be available for a 1-2 hrs call and assist me in setting things up properly? We can of course agree on payment for the service.
In the meantime, I will check out the various forum sections. My only concern is that I will need to spend many hrs and would appreciate someone helping me get things rolling. 🙂

Although there will be limits to how many people can video chat with Jitsi (not limits inposed by Cloudron, just that it doesn't really scale up like Zoom etc do and it depends a lot of how fast people's connections are).

BTW, personally I'd opt for Rocket.Chat over Matrix as imho it's much more user friendly (also integrates with Jitsi)

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

This would make a very nice case study for my video series on using CR. Sent you a PM let me know if interested.
