Feature request: Notifications about failed backups

Hi everyone,
I was checking my cloudron backend yesterday since I wondered if I had already gotten the upgrade to the latest 4.2.x version and noticed that the automated updated failed since the server could not finish the backup run that is part of the upgrade. At that point the server had gone six days without a proper backup.
The issue was with the reverse proxy of my Minio installation (it seems that the 4.2.2 changed something in relation to max package size and that triggered a misconfiguration in my reverse proxy).
To make a long story short: I would have started looking earlier into it, if i'd had known that Cloudron had troubles backing up. For such a critical issue both a notification on the cloudron panel and an email would be nice. I do remember receiving mails in the past for certificates that could not be extended.

At least two of my Cloudrons have failed to backup for multiple days now.
In one of them there is one notification within Cloudron about the backup failing last night, but there haven't been any notifications about failures on previous days.
In another there have been zero notifications despite having seemingly failed for 4 days in a row.
In both cases there have been no email notifications.
Something is not right. There should always be notifications when backups fail. And we should get an email too.
Why is this not happening? I think it's likely a regression in 7.4.1 but not sure.

@jdaviescoates just checked and at least on other Cloudron has also failed to backup for multiple days with zero notifications
So far of the ones I've checked only one has been backing up properly
(and now I can't login to cloudron.io either to remind myself if I have any others I can't remember about right now...)

Managed to reset password and get back in. Seems it is just the 4 Clourdons I have at present. But 3 out of 4 are not backing up properly and none of them are getting proper backup failure notifications.

Although one of the Cloudrons that hasn't backed up for the last two days is actually still on 7.3.6 because it's on a VPS that doesn't have enough disk space to be able to update to 7.4

Well, one of them, that hadn't successfully backup up since 15 April just successfully backed up as scheduled. So not so panicked as I was a few minutes ago. But still mighty concerned that there have been zero notifications about the backup not working for multiple days in a row....

But another (the 7.3.6 one), which started backing up as scheduled at 11pm UK time tonight (and literally only has Uptime Kuma installed) is still stuck at 26% over two hours later.

But I stopped it and manually started it again and it very quickly successfully completed. But again, still concerned as to how/ why there were backup failures that didn't trigger notifications.

Well, last night all my Cloudron successfully backed up, so that's good. Still, I wonder why they failed for 2-4 days previously and why I didn't get notifications about that.
@jdaviescoates I have/had similar issues, never got a notification via email. I now check every two days my 4 Cloudrons manually.

TBH I really don't know why you removed them after pretty much just one person (from what I could tell) found they were get too many emails (which imho just means they don't know how to manage their email with filters and folders or whatever).
Lots of people have since asked for them back and we've been waiting for ages.
In short, we need more/ better options for notification management. Some people want emails about everything all the time, others almost never want an email about anything. Cloudron should fulfil the needs of both groups

Agree that this simply needs to be more customizable. We just went for 3 as a compromise of not having the ability to customize
