    Hi there,

usually I use my Cloudron Mailbox with Apple Mail. The Apple Calendar and Addressbook is using the SOGo API.

When I use the SOGo Web Interface, I realized, that I get error messages from Apple Calendar and/or Addressbook, that the credentials are not correct. This problem remains for unknown time, even after logout from SOGo Web Interface. When I restart the SOGo App, the problem dissapears.

Any ideas why this happens to me? Do others have this problem seen, too?

    Best,
    Mike

Are there any errors shown on the SOGo server side while you log into the webinterface? Maybe the app crashes internally causing your desktop apps to temporarily fail auth?

I reproduced the problem and can see in the SOGo logs that the password (that did work all the time before and is the same that I use when login to Web Interface) is not accepted:

        Jul 19 10:53:20 172.18.0.1 - - [19/Jul/2023:08:53:20 +0000] "PROPFIND /SOGo/dav/XXXX@XXXXXX.XXX HTTP/1.1" 401 0 "-" "Client/9.2.1841.0"
        Jul 19 10:53:20 Jul 19 08:53:20 sogod [30]: 127.0.0.1 "PROPFIND /SOGo/dav/XXXX@XXXXXX.XXX HTTP/1.1" 401 0/689 0.019 - - 0 - 12
        Jul 19 10:53:20 Jul 19 08:53:20 sogod [30]: |SOGo| starting method 'PROPFIND' on uri '/SOGo/dav/XXXX@XXXXXX.XXX'
        Jul 19 10:53:20 Jul 19 08:53:20 sogod [30]: <0x0x5604b25e4050[SOGoDAVAuthenticator]> tried wrong password for user 'XXXX@XXXXXX.XXX'!

And again, the problem stays until I restart the SOGo App... strange somehow

I use SOGo calendar on Gnome but haven't faced any login issue as such. So, this happens periodically (like every xx hours or immediately?)

It happens immediately when I login to SOGo. Just a few seconds after login, I get the popups that my credentials are not accepted for Apple Calendar, Contacts Apps. Could it be related somehow to App Passwords? I have configured some App Passwords for mail.

Are you using the same passwords then for weblogin and your local apps on MacOS ? Unfortunately I don't have a mac to reproduce this and similar to @girish I don't face the issue with Gnome

The passwords were different. After setting all passwords to the regular account password, it works, and I don't get the error again. So it seem to me that the problem is caused when using account password and app password at the same time?

I do wonder if maybe the app caches the password somehow. Either way seems SOGo internal bug then.

Yes, I think so, too. For me the problem is solved. Maybe this thread will help someone with the same issue later to understand more 🙂
