Notifications on success/failure/pending

Today I realized that my MinIO was not updated for a year now.
I understand there were breaking changes (in separating the console & API), but I don't believe I was ever notified about that update pending in the notifications.Another sub-question - is there any way to get notified via webhook and/or e-mail, so that I could be triggered when something needs to happen, as opposed to check everything on my own?

@potemkin_ai we used to have update notification emails, but they were removed as they were perceived as a bit spammy, so we only raise notifications for this now in the dashboard via the update available button attached to the app grid item. For the moment I will add specific notifications for when apps are not auto-updated due to for example major version changes.

imho this should obviously be a configurable setting: some people want/ need notifications about everything, others don't want any, both (and everything in between) are valid.

agree with @jdaviescoates; and ideally, @nebulon , I would love to have an option - if it shall be delivered as an e-mail or a webhook (which I would redirect to my Telegram, for example).
And things like update or reboot pending is not just a notification - it's usually a security threat...

@potemkin_ai Not on the roadmap yet. I think we have to deal with getting out 7.5 stable first before planning after that.
@girish understood.
It would be nice if you could start with a webhook or script execution with pre-populated variables on execution - that would let us extend functionality endlessly.
