        Very interesting! This used to be called Ring before (at the time they were already thinking of changing the name as of course, type Ring on google and try to find it 😆). I hadn't follow in a while but it looks it's been developing nicely. One of the limitation of this kind of p2p network architecture (like Kopano Meet) is that does require each peer to have enough bandwidth for all streams but Jami seem to be ahead of them all with their support of H.265 which considerably diminish bandwidth requirement (albeit needs GPU power instead but it seems more scalable). I'd love to try it on Cloudron!

          Nice, just seen this on my travels, looks decent and supports all the usual suspects:

          https://jami.net/download/
          https://jami.net/contribute/

          I realise Jitsi is on the way but given the amount of times I've started a video call with one platform and ended up trying 2 others get a stable call, I don't think having multiple options can do any harm.

          👍 from me

            Interesting new version: https://jami.net/together-the-new-version-of-jami-and-a-new-step-forward/

            „We‘ve decided to transform Jami from a simple peer‑to‑peer communication system, into group communication software that would enable large groups to collaborate, while preserving individual privacy and security, yet still be free of charge. "Together" lays the foundation for this new direction.“

              @necrevistonnezr oooh 🙂

              With JAMS, you can create your own community of Jami users, either directly on the server or by connecting it to your of your LDAP authentication server or Active Directory service. You can manage user contact lists or push specific configurations to groups of users.

              The GreenScreen plugin allows to modify the image background during a video call. What makes it so unique? All the processing happens locally on your device.

                    Looking at this again, I don't think there is actually a web app nor any server components. It's all just desktop and mobile apps that communicate directly with each other, so I don't think it could really be an app on Cloudron.

                      Saying that, "JAMS - Jami Account Management Server" (as mentioned by @stoccafisso ) does sound very much like it's a server thing! So I guess that could be a Cloudron app?
