It'd be great to add support for OVH's DNS system using their API.

Is it possible to consider adding this one to the next update / 8.0, @staff?

IMHO, since there is the ovh logo as advertising in Cloudron can be installed just about anywhere
on the website, one could imagine that CLDRN also supports easy setup by using their DNS-API ?

@girish yeah, these things happen. for me it's oracle-cloud. they just don't let me in… 😞
since OVH is developing it's website fast, maybe you can give it another try, or if that fails, I can check with support (which got hard to grasp from outside, meanwhile).

@girish , I'm happy to give access to my OVH account if you need one to test with or can create one for you too, like @chymian offered. It'd really be great to get full support for OVH DNS soon. In the meantime I'm just using wildcard which is okay, but would prefer DNS being taken care of by Cloudron like it does for other popular ones.

@d19dotca using other people's accounts won't work in the long run for us. We also need to integrate this into our e2e etc.

I managed to login, but for the life of me I cannot figure how to create API keys.

Are ovhcloud.com , ovh.com , ca.ovh.com all the same ? Why all these domain names? They make it seem like it's all the same but the same login does not work across the sites.

I tried creating another account . Now in germany: "Your order is being verified manually by our teams. An additional processing time is required, so this procedure may take a few days. During this period, please check your information and track the status of your request." .

This whole thing is a joke.

Good question! I believe I can login to all of them for the control panel / account admin portion, however each domain I think has their own API credentials. It’s certainly not the best, I use OVH mostly because there’s surprisingly few companies in Canada that offer reasonably priced services for freelancers & hobbyists, and charge in CAD$ too, so my options are limited. 😅

OVH has a lot of quarks and frustrations from time to time in their documentation discrepancies and such but their services I find to be quite reliable and performant for the price in Canada at least. I also like that I can bulk edit DNS records in zone text format instead of using the UI all the time for every manual change. Makes it super easy to export and import DNS entries from zone to zone when needed. For me I’m currently sitting in wildcard DNS with OVH, but using the API would also be awesome.

Looks like it allows me to finally register a domain name. So, I did.

And now it wants to me wait 48 hours for this process. We will get there.... 48 hours a time...

Yeah, they're a high volume hoster constantly swarmed w/ requests by design, so everything is at a snails pace from the outside perspective.

Just like a high speed camera makes slow-motion videos.

That’s awesome news - thanks so much Girish! Sorry dealing with OVH was so annoying. I definitely feel ya on that, as I’m always surprised at how bad their UI is sometimes. But I’m glad the API is integrated into Cloudron now - that’s fantastic! 🙂 Excited to try it out.
