TypingMind - A better UI for ChatGPT
-
@Kubernetes which you find better : your ChatGPT app or TypingMind ?
"a better UI" : easy claim to make, but I didn't much difference on 1st view.
-
@Kubernetes Interesting. Thanks for the Surfer app tip. Will have to try it out.
-
@timconsidine The plugins make all the difference.
-
@timconsidine I prefer and use Typing Mind daily, I think it's much more than just a UI anymore. There are many small things that makes it good.
Btw, it also supports Claude AI (mentioned in another Thread)
-
@timconsidine I use it on daily base, only with daily use you can appreciate differences.
-
@Kubernetes Interesting suggestion. Thank's!
-
@Kubernetes Totally agree

How does it compare to https://chatpad.ai ?

Not much other than both are Browser Based UI to OpenAI API, except TypingMind is NOT open source at all I don't even know why it's been discussed to include in Cloudron. On the other hand, TypingMind still is an EXCELLENT UI to OpenAI and a few more LLM providers as well.
ChatPad is totally Open Source and the full source is available on Github. Not as much developed as TM but hey, it's open source so anyone can with the right skills...

Cross-posting this for Mac users. I think I prefer native OS apps for this kind of thing:

@marcusquinn Fantastic!
I needed to add also that ChatPad is built to, and meant to, run on Docker. You can find the straight command, to run it on your Docker lab, on the Github page. So that means that you can also run this easily on your local machine on Mac and Linux (as I do) and on Windows as well with Docker Desktop.
The good news is this is ready to run on Cloudron also, as it's obviously dockerized, and shouldn't be too hard to adapt. I might give it a try myself as I'm getting into learning to build apps for running on Cloudron. There's too much good stuff out there that can be added...
