Add Github Rating Score On App Store
-
As a technology beginner, I find it helpful to have additional information such as the GitHub rating score for applications listed in the App Store.
I think the rating indicates that many people like the application, has broad benefits, and might be a reference for applications that I should install on the server.
Hopefully, this idea is useful for beginners like me.

The main problem with this, apart from “rating” not meaning very much, is the maintenance work involved, or the development work needed to automate the retrieval of the stars.
The ratings can (do) change. The App Store listing doesn’t (much/frequently).
The App Store has a link - just click it. -
There are increasing numbers of developers opting to use something other than GitHub

In Cloudron's case, I do not see the relevancy of having star rating for the apps simply because most of the apps on Cloudron are already among the best and most popular apps found in the FOSS market out there. There ain't no crap apps, some are of course more useful than others, but for most they have been added by POPULAR demand. Cloudron is a 5 star apps repository !

@micmc good comment, which together with some other thing I read today, gave me an “aha” realisation about the original feature request. Because Cloudron is (rightly) quite selective about adding apps, and is committed to maintaining the packages, we don’t have the situation which is more common on CapRover or yunohost or sandstorm. On those, more checking into the listed apps is needed, glad we don’t need to do that so much.

I think it's a good idea but I think ratings and reviews work best when you have a very large number of users (think millions of users). This way each app gets a decent amount of diverse ratings (take into account that 90% of users won't even vote). When you have only 10s of reviews, it's unclear what it means. You can see this in Yunohost already. If an app has 32 stars, is this good or bad? If you allow comments on top of this, most are usually just negative (people complaining about specific things). IIRC, I saw this in Sandstorm but I think they have actually removed the comments section by now (it was pretty bad).

The idea is simple like App Store or Playstore there's a rating and review section on Cloudron list apps. So we can see the star rating and review from the GitHub users or Cloudron users.
I can assure you we've grasped the idea
