The simplicity of Cubby is attractive for a quick document share with clients or internal teams, yet it's somewhat unfriendly to use viewing documents.

For example, if you open a document that is editable, the cursor in nowhere to be found and forces a click.

Same for closing a document, Esc doesn't work and forces a click.

While the Ctrl-s save keyboard command works, what is the close command?

Keyboard nav, closer to if not better than what we have in the App File Browser would be excellent.

Similar for sharing a link, prefill the date with today+1 or it looks unfriendly to have to fill in dd/mm/yyyy.

I know the calendar icon is a picker, it's just not obvious. Pre-pick!

A collapsible left menu would be great, and then add another collapsible column to the file list with common actions like ⬇ download, share and delete. That way it's not always a 3dot menu pick but a single click. See Gmail for inspiration.

Tiny niceties will make it more joyful to use 😄

    Thanks @nebulon

Thanks for the input here. Mostly quite doable and sound like much quality of live improvements. I am on vacation now, but should get to those in the next couple of weeks.

Overall the project is moving quite slowly, since I am mostly too busy with Cloudron itself, contributions are very welcome though at https://git.cloudron.io/apps/cubby 🙂
