    SnappyMail has not have had any updates for over a year now - that‘s not good for a web facing app that holds a trove of sensitive information…
    The lack of updates is due to health issues of the maintainer (https://github.com/the-djmaze/snappymail/issues/1911) - yet I wonder whether this app should be delisted?

        From the thread it looks like the solo maintainer might be recovering but more importantly at least one other company seems to be interested in helping out. So lets see how that goes first.

        Overall though Roundcube might be the more maintained mail webclient for sure, if anyone is uncertain about the future of snappy.

          Oh, that's a nice development! Their message almost exactly coincided with me opening this topic 😉

            @nebulon Can you make a non-Cloudron-configured version of Roundcube? It's the only reason why I use Snappy. I need to integrate external mail servers.

              Since roundcube only allows for one email server configuration and we had no use-case so far to support other servers for it, Cloudron has no feature to optionally enable the email addon, which is used here for the roundcube package to configure itself.

              We have to add this as a feature request for Cloudron itself then to avoid having to publish two flavors of roundcube.

                I‘m not sure it’s a good idea to „update“ this package - it could create the false impression that the code is up to date. The last relevant update is from October 2024 - that’s not good for a mail application that potentially holds your most important information.

                        Hello @nichu42
                        I have already looked into it.
                        One could publish tachyon as a community app.
                        Snappymail and Tachyon are very similar the whole snappymail package repo could be reused for that.

                              @LoudLemur https://forum.cloudron.io/post/127984

                              GH says it can be a direct upgrade for existing SnappyMail installs.

                              Not sure that applies for custom packages, but if the CL team decide to include a migration script, it would work.

I think many here might like to know how it goes if you already have SnappyMail up and running on Cloudron and want to switch over to your Tachyon. Is easy to do? How is the new GUI for Tachyon by the way?
