Disable cloudrontestdns?
-
I'm using Namecheap's DNS servers for my Cloudron installation. As a security measure, Namecheap emails me every time there is a change to the DNS records. This seems generally reasonable and good, except for the past couple of weeks I've been getting daily emails when Cloudron automatically adds and removes the following record:
Name: cloudrontestdns Type: A Address:127.0.0.1Is it possible to disable this testing functionality?
Thanks!

Oh, that is rough to send an email when DNS records change. In Cloudron 9, we periodically test the validity of the domain/DNS keys by adding a test record. I guess we can change it to just "read" records and not "write" a test record for say namecheap. Would that work?

I think that would work, thank you @girish!

I'm seeing this in my notifications on Linode. This has happened every day for the last four days. I hadn't noticed it before and thought it was a problem after I had some weird issue with my NextCloud app. So I take it this is just a normal check performed by Cloudron or does this indicate some kind of problem???
Thanks,
Mark

@m3pilot it's not a problem. Cloudron periodically checks (everyday) if the namecheap credentials are working. If not working, it will give you a notification that DNS credentials are not working. As part of the check, a DNS entry is created and deleted immediately .
