It's still early days, should probably wait until V1, but just wanted to get this here as a reminder to keep an eye on it. -
Nice addition. Good to see their crowdfunder went well.
Now the big question: will it scrape Facebook?
-
Early days no more! 1.0 just got released. And there's LDAP
-
@yusf cool!
-
@yusf nice!
Here are install instructions:
https://docs.joinmobilizon.org/administration/No official docker yet, but a few community ones by the looks of it.
Here is the 1.0 release:
https://framagit.org/framasoft/mobilizon/-/releasesWould love to have this!
-
That would be ace!
-
I like that this is their own home-grown tool rather than another open source tool with "frama-" pasted on the front of the name.
-
@scooke This is their new approach, same as with Peertube.

Yeah, although while they now lead on that it was originally started by someone else so not quite so fully home baked. But pretty much
-
Docker support has arrived, https://hub.docker.com/r/framasoft/mobilizon
-
It would be awsome to have this in the quartet Mastodon, Peertube, Pixelfed and Mobilizon. Mobilizon being the missing piece...
-
@tubelubs Exactly! I think Cloudron stand to gain by marketing also to the fediverse community.
-
-
I like that idea of having a specific category for it.
-
@jdaviescoates I think that's an excellent idea! I guess right now we have mastodon, matrix, pixelfed. Maybe we will add the category after we add a couple more apps?
-
@girish why wait? 3 is already more than there are in Games
-
@jdaviescoates done
-
@girish nice, thanks! (although I think I would've gone with Fediverse over Federated myself).
I think there are a quite a few other improvements that could be made too, e.g. I'm surprised there are no Contacts nor Calendar categories either.
-
@girish PS I think you should add it to https://www.cloudron.io/store/index.html too
(also just realised that Popular and New aren't shown there either, which I think they should be - indeed, I think in many way even more important to show them there to potential new customers than to existing users
)

There are working on Docker but doesn't seem to be quite there yet:
"Docker production installation is now in alpha status."
See
https://docs.joinmobilizon.org/administration/

1.1 is out, see:

Looks like that's sorted now too!
https://docs.joinmobilizon.org/administration/install/docker/ -
Currently on 1.3.2
-
Giving this a bump as now onto Version 2.0 since November.
-
-
@jdaviescoates Framasoft are indeed excellent!
Odoo has a sophisticated Events module that integrates into the rest of its services.
-
v3 coming soon:
-
nebulon
-
-
Giving this another push
-

@yusf yeah, I think @Staff ought to add Fediverse as a category in the app store too so that people can quickly see what we've already got here
Great idea!
-
Framasoft are a brilliant team doing so much to help Free Software! They have several projects and many of them might benefit from deployment on Cloudron. Has anybody contacted Framasoft in order to let them know we exist and how Cloudron could help their projects?
-
@girish Mobilizon has integration with both OwnCast and Jitsi, which you can find in the "Add Elements" section when creating events. Supporting Mobilzon would leverage Cloudron's existing work.
The magnificent Framasoft people have a whole bunch of other applications too, including ones for Calenders and Agenda. I hope Cloudron get behind them and make them all easy to deploy. You can see some of what they do here:
Perhaps they will integrate Mobilizon with Nextcloud calendar... one can but hope....
-
@LoudLemur yes please! I agree - would love to install this on my new Cloudron instance!
-
@Supaiku Just remember, all these federated apps will end up using a lot of storage space, if federated. Prepare accordingly.
-
@scooke thanks for the note, in my case DO volumes seem to be the solution! easily applied with Cloudron
