          Upvoting (the main post) and commenting for engagement, even though it looks like voting for things here doesn't really seem to make a difference.

            @umnz important to upvote so thanks.

            Also important to remember that packaging can be complex. So takes time. I’ve looked at packaging Supabase a couple of times and it’s definitely in the “non-trivial” category.

            For myself, and maybe for lots of others, Parse is as good as supabase for 80-90% of needs, and is easier to package. Maybe will release my package for Parse Server this weekend

              @umnz supabase has a lot of options and so many services running. It would be hard to combine the one-click app approach of cloudron and managing the complexity of supabase. You can take a look at coolify, there are pre-made templates where you have full control of the application.

                I came here to upvote this but I think i understand if it's too much for a cloudron to handle

                  @jordanurbs It's on Coolify, so can't be impossible.

                    Coolify uses docker compose, cloudron doesn't. Cloudron requires to package an app into one container, and from what I have seen with Supabase, this is difficult.

                      I was going to suggest an App Wishlist for SunaAI, however it seems to require Supabase (Postgres based) which is a stack of it's own, with Redis, RabbitMQ, python backend with node frontend.

                        That's interesting! I suppose you could host this on Cloudron and still use an external Supabase account, but I also think this kind of goes against the approach of using Cloudron for hosting in the first place.

                          @ekevu123 Yes, similar how we run AI stuff locally, needing remote APIs.

                          I've managed to make a local deepsite instance work in similar ways.

                            While planning another project which would benefit from Supabase, I used AI to take another look at viability of packaging Supabase.
                            Answer : don't 😆

                            So nothing changed.

                              @timconsidine Can concur - we ran an automated test on how suitable Firebase is for Cloudron packaging and it was the strongest "NO" we have had yet.

                              You can see the report here. We will eventually put these on a blog...

                                @LoudLemur Firebase ? Or Supabase ?

                                Supabase is difficult - that's what I packaged Parse - will make it into a community app at some point
