Identity Server for Matrix?

Hello,

We installed a "Matrix Server" and "Elements" with Clouron.
What about the Identity Server?

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the Identity server is just a lookup service for contacts and lends itself to centralization for discovery purposes.

I guess https://github.com/matrix-org/sydent is the reference implementation but we don't have it on Cloudron yet.
