      Hello all,

I am very happy about something like Cloudron, which I am currently testing. I used to manage my small private server all by myself, but I don't have the time for that anymore. I would even very much like to subscribe and use more apps. But I don't find the subscription options suitable for all needs.

My small server that I still own costs me just 9€ a month. The monthly cost of Cloudron would be 30€. Or if I would pay for a year in advance 15€. I know it is a lot of work to keep the software up to date, so I would even pay the 15€, but I would like to pay monthly with a contract of one year for example.

As I said, the prices are fair, no question. Therefore, I would only be happy about more possibilities to pay them.

Therefore, are possibly more subscription options planned in the future?

yes, possibly. Currently, we have a cost per transaction/invoice - both from stripe and our accountant. This is why we offer deep discount for the yearly one (it keeps all our costs low).

So far, people on a low monthly plan churn out, which makes it hard for us to recover the cost.

@girish Hi Girish, sorry if there is something I'm missing here but you're saying you have a cost per invoice / transaction. I have a few instance on the yearly contract (so the $15/month), yet payments and invoices still happen monthly. How does that reduces your cost?
And to be honest I would much rather pay you yearly, so if that'd be better for you I'm a taker 🙂

@avatar1024 you’re on a yearly plan and get charged monthly? Seems wrong. I’m on a yearly plan and only pay once a year. Keeps their costs down and my own too. 🙂 If you’re assuming it’s monthly when on an annual plan it’s simply because they’re taking the 12 month total and dividing by 12 for an easier to compare monthly price between monthly and yearly plans. That’s an industry standard move to present it that way because most people think of expenses in terms of monthly amounts whether we pay yearly or not.

@avatar1024 I think if you are billed monthly, you are on the monthly contract. You probably got an exception because you have been with us a while or some other reason (have to dig up support history to find out the exact reason).

But yes, if you could convert to yearly, it will save us $$.

                Ah okay, I understand.
Then I will continue to test and consider whether I buy the annual plan.

                Thanks for your help.

@girish Thanks Girish. I'll email you directly (support@cloudron) so we can tidy things up.
