I'm not a Netcup user but I think @jdaviescoates is.

AFAIK, all storage whether extending a partition or adding additional storage has to be manually configured for it to show up.

    This might help: https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/6086/ubuntu-20-04-how-to-extend-partition-for-noobs?_=1661268682887

      Hello guys netcup users

May i ask, is the storage tab for root server the same as increasing the server disk?

      89234371-8C8A-45D6-92AB-F4F9F5C8082A.jpeg

I purchased it but when checking the disk with fdisk -l , I’m still seeing the same disk size.

Is there anything I’m doing incorrectly? Am I missing something here?

Thanks so much for any assisstance.

No, the storage space you can rent at Netcup is a NFS share that you have to mount at your desired location. They have the following (german) documentation regarding this: https://www.netcup-wiki.de/wiki/Storagespace_mounten

Yeah, but I've only got one tiny VPS with them.

This was just to check them out given they are

        1. 100% powered by renewable energy, and
        2. even cheaper than Hetzner

But what I discovered is their UI/UX is terrible*, so I've never explored any further.

*e.g. they offer hourly based pricing, but you actually have to pay 6 months in advance (and then get a refund for unused hours if you cancel before 6 months).

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

@jdaviescoates Their UI can't be worse than Contabo's šŸ˜† I wanted to try Netcup last year but their 6 mo payment policy killed that interest on the spot. I noticed Hetzner added a US location. Will be giving it a try if Contabo ever drops the ball.

I use netcup, and that 6 month policy is for the smaller servers.

I do agree that their ui/us is terrible. But, that cost savings is awesome.

Only very marginally cheaper than Hetzner last time I looked, and the Hetzner UI/UX is great so I think worth paying a tiny bit extra for myself šŸ™‚

                @jdaviescoates hahaha, true!

I guess I was more comparing to other brands.

Funny enough I have a server from both companies. And I do prefer hetzners site and English translation more

I have a RS 4000, RS 1000 and a couple of small VPS at Netcup. For storage space I use Hetzner Storagebox since Netcup is way too expensive. On the other side, if you need faster storage and interconnectivity, you can order Cloud vLan at Netcup to build your own Network within their Datacenter.
