I was going to suggest to someone they run Mastodon on Cloudron.

https://www.cloudron.io/store/org.joinmastodon.cloudronapp.html shows version 3.5x when I know 4.0x will be installed.

When does the app store update?

      Thanks

      Sam

Thats a valid question ^^ Published Application Status is also not updated. In the meantime, you can use that public link for the Mastodon package: https://forum.cloudron.io/post/56155

Right some of the appstore pages are static, to avoid JS talking to the API. However this also means we have to redeploy them often and there is no simple CI hook for this in-place. I will rewrite those to be dynamic instead then. Thanks for the nudge, it is on my list for a long time 🙂

If they do, and assuming they'll want public non Cloudron users to be able to register and reset their passwords etc, make sure they don't use Cloudron User Management otherwise it won't work as expected. Also be sure to let them know that running Mastodon needs LOTS of disk space.

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

So all the pages are now dynamically fetching app info and are thus always current.
