I am shilling Cloudron, and wonder what I might say to encourage VPS providers to start support for Cloudron as some do already, such as Linode.

Some of these VPS providers already offer support for applications, for example WordPress. When you go through the dialogue in the beginning to create a new VPS, they have an option in the wizard to "install WordPress".

What more would a VPS company need to do to start support for Cloudron?
Is it much of a burden after the initial setup?
Are there any tutorials on how to proceed?
What would the VPS need to do?
      Who should they reach?
      Would it cost them?

Currently, we are in Linode, Vultr, AWS, Digital Ocean & Netcup.

Would love to see us on Hetzner/OVH! (If anyone knows anyone there, please put in a word)

How big a task would it be for them to accomplish it?

@LoudLemur probably very easy. After all , they maintain other VM images. Atleast in the ones we are already listed, there was minimal effort (on their part).

I think Cloudron is on good terms with Linode. Perhaps somebody could contact them and request a short paragraph indicating something like this:

              • Why did you consider supporting Cloudron?
              • What were your main concerns before offering Cloudron as an application?
              • How easy was it to setup Cloudron support?
              • How has Cloudron support been a benefit?

If we had some testimony from one VPS provider, we could cite that in our discussions with others.

Currently, we are in .... Netcup.

The last time I looked (well over a year ago) the Netcup deployment was on an old Ubuntu version. So because the Cloudron install is so easy, I just took a newer plain Ubuntu and installed manually.

Probably Netcup has freshened their deployment image since then, but if not, they might need a nudge / request.

Disclaimer : I might well be out of date.

One of our knowledgeable posters here mentioned that Netcup regularly have a sale on a particular day of the month. Can anybody remember which one?
