New update to Pixelfed is checked in that introduces "sign in with Mastodon" as well as new auto spam filtering. Looks pretty slick.

Very nice, does this mean mastodon is now an OIDC provider?

@girish I suspect it's just a direct connector of somehow, but that'd be amazing if it was - that'd be game changer for peertube et al

Hi, I don't want to start a new thread. Is it possible to update the Pixelfed app please? We also use the Pixelfed mobile app, but after updating it we can't send photos because our version on the server is old.

According to https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/releases at least it seems we are on the latest version.

I don't know, but on, Pixelfed social can already be logged in using Mastodon and the version is the same.

I'd guess just the code at https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed

I can't remember for sure, but I think Pixelfed might be one of those apps that doesn't often do proper releases?

At the very least it would appear some Cloudron releases have just updated to latest commit previously eg https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/8994/update-to-latest-commits/1

Hi, I looked at the other, larger instances and they have v0.11.8, but they can now register via Mastodon.
After all, isn't it possible that Pixelfed releases updates differently? Maybe they release interim versions.

Hey, don't be mad, I'll add a message from Mastodon. Pixelfed update was possible on 31.7.
I'm sorry if I'm being too annoying, but our instance already has multiple users, so I just want everything to work. Thank you very much again.

I tried looking up some documentation on this, but was not able to find something. Does this login with Mastodon only work for new accounts? Are there settings that need to be done?

For a list of servers

PF_LOGIN_WITH_MASTODON_DOMAINS=instance.one,instance.two,etc.com e.g.

Looks like pixelfed is back on release tags. Little changes for our app package from the dev branch to the tag, but its updated.
