DeepSeek is better than ChatGPT at describing Doughnut Economics
-
I just saw these amusing Toots about DeepSeek roasting ChatGPT
https://social.coop/@dcht00/113890183687465992
And this previous one about how it seems to perform better in test that lots of other models

So (as I did when I was testing the models we can add to OpenWebUI) I decided to ask it:
What is Doughnut Economics?
And IMHO it did gave a much better and more accurate description than ChatGPT 4o did:
Here is how DeepSeek answered:

https://office.uniteddiversity.coop/s/fDfcK93sGRkqjDyDeepSeek's description of the 7 principles are much more accurate.
(PS @staff is it possible to increase the character limit of tags on here? I wanted to include
Doughnut Economics
but 15 characters is the max) -
I also showed both DeepSeek and ChatGTP some screenshots of some benchmarking I did on a new secondhand 2TB drive I've just put into one of my machines and DeepSeeks commentary was better on that too!
Specifically, ChatGPT said:
"Ensure the SATA cable and connection are in good condition to rule out hardware bottlenecks."
But it's an M.2 drive so it's not using a SATA cable!
As DeepLink commented:
The advice from ChatGPT regarding the SATA cable and connection is generally sound, especially when troubleshooting potential hardware issues that could affect performance. However, in the context of your specific situation with the Samsung SSD 860 EVO M.2 drive, this advice might not be directly applicable. Here's why:
-
M.2 Form Factor: The Samsung SSD 860 EVO M.2 is an M.2 SSD, which connects directly to the motherboard via an M.2 slot, not through a SATA cable. Therefore, checking a SATA cable would not be relevant for this type of drive.
-
Connection Type: M.2 SSDs can use either SATA or NVMe (PCIe) interfaces. The 860 EVO M.2 uses the SATA interface, but it still connects directly to the motherboard. Ensuring that the M.2 slot is properly seated and the connection is secure is important, but this is different from checking a SATA cable.
-
Performance Considerations: For M.2 SSDs, ensuring that the motherboard's M.2 slot supports the appropriate interface (SATA or NVMe) and that the firmware and drivers are up to date can help maintain optimal performance.
In summary, while the advice about checking the SATA cable is useful for traditional 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, it doesn't apply to M.2 SSDs like yours. Instead, you should ensure that the M.2 slot and connection are secure and that your system's firmware and drivers are up to date. If you encounter performance issues, these factors would be more relevant to check.
