I think the forum is awesome. It's great to see so many active, helpful, connecting.

However, at times all that interesting stuff is overwhelmed by the various package Update notifications. I checked, and I may have missed it, but if there was an additional filter for "Package Update Notifications" with which I could filter out those posts, that would be great.

I know I can read the posts that are interesting, and then click "Mark as read" -> "All", and that's what I do do. But if there was a way to exclude those, it would be helpful. Perhaps under "New Topics", or "All categories" (Shouldn't that 'c' be capitalized, by the way?), there could be some option to exclude "Package Update Notifications"?

This isn't crucial by any means, but it would be handy.

@scooke I agree that the Package Update threads were sort of clouding the forum view for me - if an app were to be updated then it would automatically update on my Cloudron, no need for me to see it 🙂 as notifications came up in those threads, I simply marked that thread as 'Ignoring' instead of the default 'Not Watching'. It is a 1 by 1 process, but it means it also does enable you to keep track of any app updates that you do want to follow, if any.

Good point... I checked if there is a way to say "only notify users subscribed to this post" when creating a new app update post but that option is not there on NodeBB. Looks like as @thetomester13 said, the onus is on the reader to actively "ignore" update posts.
