Very interested in this. I would install right away. I read about Wireguard (the protocol, not this specific GUI implementation) a while back and have been looking forward to an easier way to use it. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2018/08/wireguard-vpn-review-fast-connections-amaze-but-windows-support-needs-to-happen/

Yes, I was also thinking about cloudron when the link for subspace floated by. I already created https://github.com/subspacecloud/subspace/issues/1 for a plain http mode in subspace, only after that is implemented one can think about running subspace behind a reverse proxy (like it does in cloudron).

WireGuard seems awesome, I've been excited by this for awhile.

@fbartels Did you get any further in this effort? Repo owner doesn’t seem to appreciate the effort because they just closed the issue 🤔

@yusf no, I haven't spent any time on this, but since I watch the git repository I have seen the lack of interest from the original authors (and the one active fork).

The GUI also recently popped up in https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19709411. Let's see if the authors have a genuine interest in open source.

@fbartels I see. Yes, the application seemed very close to the author’s own cloud app project, possibly smelling competition. Perhaps there’s alternative GUIs out there too.

@fbartels Sounds like it got implemented:

It's already implemented and working fine with the Docker image

I have to read up on Wireguard, but if the "management" layer is similar to OpenVPN, we can re-purpose large parts of the UI work done by @mehdi . https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/openvpn-app

@girish It's management is quite different than that of OpenVPN and should get it's own GUI ground up.

It's also not fully tested software and considered "beta"

I've been using https://github.com/wg-dashboard/wg-dashboard for the last month or two, and it works quite reasonably. Would require some tweaking to fit in Cloudron, but might be a good option.

wg-dashboard looks good enough to me!

A community fork has been gathering steam and is being actively developed:

                          https://github.com/subspacecommunity/subspace

Might be worth revisiting for potential packagers. 🙂

Have been using WireGuard since 2 Years now it is really fast, it would be great to see it in Cloudron maybe with PiHole.

Let's merge this with https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1861/wireguard-vpn since that one has more votes.
