      You log in with your Cloudron auth to enable the conference as host. It's not wide open like jit.si.

        @robi thank you; I would expect it to recognize me automatically - since I literally just created this conference from the very same browser.

        A question, btw, would it require me to auth on Jitsi every time I create a conference, if I leave jitsi auth managed by Cloudron?

          Yes, unless reusing the same conference URL.

            or unless you adjust the configuration to make it completely open so no one ever has to login. But then you run the risk of random people using your server.

              @jdaviescoates , @robi , thank you!

              Not very user friendly approach =(
              I'm limiting access to the meetings using closed network approach, so I end up switching to everyone can connect configuration.

              Unfortunately, no option to switch from CloudRon managed Jitsi to let the app manage this on it's own once installed.
              Luckily Jitsi is very easy to reinstall.

                I think it's the most suitable default and have personally never been bothered by having to click on my Bitwarden browser plugin to use my Cloudron credentials to quickly login as the host on Jitsi 🙂

                  right, this setting is currently not dynamic and has to be chosen at installation time. It's quite complicated to implement since it's not clear what happens to LDAP users (and viceversa).

                    @girish thanks for explaining!

                    I don't know if that's possible, but if it is, I would love to see a notification on that during the installation process of Jitsi.

                            @necrevistonnezr I would guess it's Ronin that never returned from the battle field... hence abbreviated by Ron and Cloud, but together as Cloud-Ron as it sounds better.

                            And what's your perspective?

                                    @jdaviescoates it actually is, partly because as a German I found the term cauldron quite intriguing and thus threw that in. Also one can think of Cloudron as a pot your throw in all those apps 😉

                                      @nebulon I've always thought it was coming from the sounding of running apps in the cloud. And so that is why one needs its apps to be cloud run(ed), or even cloud r on whatever that sounds loudly pronounced in some part of the world. 🙂
