Hi, I send automatic backups to the Hetzner box. It hasn't been a problem for a long time, so I haven't checked the backups lately either. But yesterday I found that the backup ends up with the error shown in the picture. I tried to clean the backup and run the backup, but the same error. Has anyone had a similar problem. Thank you very much for the information

What is your backup configuration? I use a Hetzner Storagebox too and this are my settings:

Redarding your error message: the path seems too long so maybe either your system or the remote system is not able to handle this. Try to switch to tarball instead of rsync. Also saved a lot a time in my case because stuff like Wordpress and mail accounts have thousands of small files.

@subven Hey, thanks for the answer. I have the box connected via SSHFS, but I tried switching from rsync to Tarbal and I think that probably solved the problem. Thank you very much

@archos Hi I don't want to start a new thread. Tarball is more functional, but it doesn't do incremental backups. I now have approximately 500 GB of data on cloudron and the backup takes 8-10 hours every day.Now I also had a problem with updating Nextcloud because the Nextcloud backup got stuck and I had to ask support for help. Thank you very much. Rsync makes incremental backups, but when I turn on backup using Rsync, the backup ends up with the same error. Isn't it better to choose CiFS mount? What repository do you use for backups? I have previously used a box from Hetzner and backed up a home pc with a lot of data using Rsync and never had a problem. I'll add Nextcloud takes up the most data, wouldn't it be better to buy another Hetzner box and move the Nextcloud data there? Thank you very much for your help.

I saw @girish was hitting issues with Hetzner Storage Boxes yesterday too:

@archos Have you tried with disabling file name encryption to remove the possibility that this is due to lengthy file names? In 7.3.4, this setting is in Backups -> Configure -> Encrypt file names (uncheck this).

@girish So the problem was really with the encryption. Now the backup goes through Rsync without problems. Thank you very much for your help, I think the thread is solved 🙂
