Sending mails from external App

How to setup outgoing mailserver for app proxy apps?

What is the best approach?

• Create a mail user?
• Other options?

Currently, that's the best option. Create a mail user and configure the proxy app to use those credentials.

Adding to that, you can also add an app password for the mail client.
This way you can have multiple password for 1x Mail User for each sender.
Also good if the sender gets breached only the one password needs to be deleted and not the whole account reset.
