@thetomester13 you can vote for it if you like https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/3470/matrix-dimension-integration-manager

I'm happy to see Beeper on the wishlist.
I've always wanted to do Matrix bridge thing, but I had to give up a DIY option as I don't have a skillset to make it work on my server.I'm on the waiting list of both Beeperhq.com and Texts.com (yet another all-the-text-apps-in-one-place app), as I desperately need this.
But It would be great to see it as Cloudron app(s).

Just pointing out that getting "beeper" into cloudron as an app is not possible. According to beeper their app (web, mobile, etc) is not open source. This would actually be an expansion of the current Matrix/Element feature set provided by Cloudron as that ansible playbook is actually what is open source. In other words if the Cloudron team implemented everything from that playbook it would still be running on Element and have nothing to do with the beeper suite of apps.
This has actually been a discussion over here https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/3150/expand-matrix-app-features?_=1618311080337 for a while now.

That no longer appears to be the case:
They even have instructions of how to do it:
https://github.com/beeper/self-host
Given we've already got Synapse/ Matrix and Element on here, methinks @staff ought to have a look at how possible it would be to add all the Beeper bridges to those / create a Beeper package (and perhaps update the title of this thread, too)

What about this one? https://ferdium.org/

Thanks, that looks cool/ interesting (I'd seen Franz before but not this hard fork of it), but not sure it's really doing the same thing as Beeper is doing at all, although sure there is certainly quite a bit of overlap in functionality/ use cases.
Perhaps you could create an App Wishlist post for it?

@jdaviescoates What I said is still true, what beeper does as an app is not something that is open source/hostable. You can setup all the bridges and whatnot as that is just a part of Matrix. Beeper has contributed to Matrix a lot and made a lot of bridges that didn't exist. What they are saying there is what they have always said, it can be read as "If you don't want to pay for beeper you can replicate what we do and use another Matrix client.
Sadly the fact remains that if you self host everything you won't be able to use the actual Beeper app, which (in my opinion) is the actual secret sauce of what Beeper does.
One thing that has changed though is that it doesn't cost (at least right now) they removed their pricing model and myself and a few other people I know have been using it for free for most of this year. I rarely use it since I it isn't using my infra buuuuut still a cool change if you wanted to use Beeper.

From their install docs that explain what I said more succinctly lol, if you could use the Beeper client with self hosted infrastructure that would be game changing. Maybe one day
I think even just having Matrix/ Element but with all the Beeper bridges pre-installed would be pretty game changing too.
I'm not sure how different the UX would be to using the Beeper client

@jdaviescoates Beeper is significantly better at all that as they made it for that, their client is great.
But yes I agree about having the bridges (not all are from beeper) in the Matrix install would be great. There have actually been a few discussions around it, https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/3150/expand-matrix-app-features and I think elsewhere in the overall topic https://forum.cloudron.io/category/50/matrix-synapse-element if you wanted to chime in somewhere.
