Anytype (finally) released for public beta
-
I just got the beta update on the android app today and have been waiting for Multiplayer on Android!
- Multiplayer: Now Live on Android
- Experience Gallery Installation Now Supported
- Support for Network Name now on Android
- Files-as-Objects: File Visibility in link-to and @ mentions
- Backlinks Open on Single Tap
- All File & Media Objects Can Now be Opened as Objects
- Global search results limited to 50 objects
For Cloudron, it would be awesome to have at least the sync / backup node.
-
This should be moved to the App Wishlist forum!
-
@necrevistonnezr Only put it here because it doesn't need any hosting, but I suppose the self-hosted options could be desirable by some.

this tool is SO A-fucking-MAZING
totally in love with it
-
@RazielKanos It's been a while since I played with it (back in early alpha beta days), but I've just installed it again and am going to have another play
-
Have you guys already seen this feature?
-
@RazielKanos Nice, thanks for sharing! I really need to have a proper play around with this!

@LoudLemur I hadn't actually heard of it until @micmc mentioned it in one of my topics: Personal Management Apps.
Personally, what has drawn me in is their manifesto and why they're building Anytype. In the past few months, they've made a lot of progress on their roadmap. The features that really stand out to me vs. Notion, Code, and others, largely is privacy and essentially controlling my data.
They're working on rolling out web publishing (static sites, they might add some sort of "CMS" ability), team collaboration without hosting fees or as many concerns about security, privacy, and such. Lastly, the other big item for me is the ability to create a "Personal Management System" in a single platform vs. trying various different no-code / low-code platforms. I see that I'd potentially be able to take quite a few apps hosted on various servers and combine them into Anytype; in turn reducing some of my personal costs.
Of the features, I'm waiting for an API and integrations such as pulling in data from other sources. If I'm being honest, they still have a long way to go, but I don't mind supporting them as I personally see the potential.

I am using it for project management, notes management, story writing, game design ... i run a ton of private spaces and 3 shared with my team
Beeing able to host this thing of Cloudron would be the ultimate game changer for me
-
I seee, self-hosting this seems to unlock the community sharing for free. That's well worth it, and I suspect simpler and more advanced than Outline
-
Are there any updates on this?
https://tech.anytype.io/how-to/self-hostingUnfortunately i have no clue on how hard it would be, but i am pretty sure many are interested in this. Maybe we should offer a bounty?

Any new tries here to get this running on cloudron? I am willing to pay, if it doesn't cost an arm & a leg...

@RazielKanos ask an APPDEV to package it, or @Kubernetes for an unofficial easy install.
