Just been reviewing this and have some clients that would be interested. Some additional links:

Adding to my App Wishlist to Sponsor. Anyone interested in packaging?

This looks great!

-
Nice, I like it.
-
I found it when I realise almost everyone I know in business-land and organisations is now somehow organising Webinar conferences and meetings with little more than group emails, spreadsheets and whatever video conferencing app they can agree on.
I like the Pretix business model too - OS all the fundamentals and charge for hosting, support and premium add-ons for nice needs.
Goes to show the best of both worlds is possible and sustainable.

Looks straight forward using Postgres. -
+100 for this one, would be pretty amazing to have an alternative to FB events, Eventbrite & other big players in the cloudron appstore !
2 years ago I suggested Frab but potentially this one seems have all the needed features and a nice UI https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1578/frab-free-and-open-conference-management-system?_=1603364253578

@jdaviescoates I installed Attendize in the LAMP app, install went fine but during configuration of an event I discovered that recurring events (like time slots for visiting a museum) is not possible .
According to the Pretix docs they do have this option! (https://pretix.eu/about/en/blog/20210129-release-3150/)
Auto-generate time slots When using pretix for a use case that requires lots of time slots within a day, creating those times used to be a lot of manual work with a great potential for mistakes. We've now added a convenience feature to allow creating many time slots with just a few clicks.
However installing it in LAMP seems much more difficult or impossible.
Let's hope this great peace of "made in Germany" ( @nebulon ) software will make it soon on Cloudron because of preparations for hopefully soon ending of COVID-19 lockdowns.
-
@imc67 good investigating!
Tickets for recurring events seems to often be something that is lacking (e.g. it's the same for pretty much every WordPress events plugin too - the only one I've found that does tickets for recurring events is this one https://10web.io/plugins/wordpress-event-calendar/ although I've not actually tried it yet)
-
@jdaviescoates indeed, between the first lockdown and the current I've setup a Wordpress site in Cloudron with a plugin called "Appointment Hour Booking", that is very basic but with some workarounds just sufficient enough.
Pretix is in such case much more 'professional' looking and dedicated for its job.
-
@imc67 I think something nicer could be recreated quite quickly in EspoCRM by creating a booking.example.com "Portal".
TBH I'm finding EspoCRM so fast to work with as a framework that most other CRUD apps could be recreated with it.

Similarly to me finding it a little strange that you were comparing Easy Appointments to Attendize and Pretix, I find it mildly bizarre that you tried to create an events thing on WordPress using an Appointment Hour Booking plugin instead of the many many WordPress plugins actually designed for creating Events based websites
-
@jdaviescoates the use case are not events but time slots for a museum ...
-
@imc67 heh, that makes a lot more sense
-
@jdaviescoates @girish @nebulon I really hope this gets more attention as it will also be the first in it’s kind on Cloudron and also really needed in the hopefully soon coming release of the lockdowns.
I see apps on the wishlist with less votes getting here sooner.
-
@imc67 yeah, I'd love to have this too! (in time for when things start to open up again here in the UK...)
-
@jdaviescoates Actually, pretix would work great for digital events too - webinars, etc.
They support webinars in their paid versions, but I am sure the open source version can be used to register attendees for online events too.On this topic, has anybody tried out https://www.attendize.com/? Development seems to have stalled (site last updated in 2020). Github: https://github.com/Attendize/Attendize
Docker: https://www.attendize.com/getting_started.html#running-attendize-in-docker-for-development
-
Can this be used for something like a group buy? Once all seats are filled, the event happens.
-
@nebulon this is VERY interesting
-
-
-
I had a request for an 'Eventbrite alternative' today. This looks promising.

the only open-source self-hosted software of its type

@Sam_uk No FOSS, but worth a look from my research on similar: https://www.thundertix.com/
Do bear in mind that Eventbrite has somewhat of a network effect for promoting events in justification for it's higher fees though.

https://alternativeto.net/software/eventbrite/?license=opensourceThanks, I just discovered gath.io because of that and have created an app wishlist post here:
-
Bump.
Eventbrite are charging for free ticketed events with over 25 tickets, so there may be renewed interest in this.
-
It’s one of the “pro” categories that is missing on Cloudron and we desperately need it.
-
I realise it's not everyone's cup of tea, but always worth looking at WordPress plugin options for things like this. Always amazes me how many things that ecosystem solves, plus all data integrated with the hosting website, to save from setting up separate sites and data synching for these sorts of things.

This would be very cool !!!
-
Will you add to Cloudron app lists?
-
The Odoo Events module is Free Software and has options for ticket sales, marketing and is interoperative with ticketing hardware:

-
It is no 11 on the app wishlist in terms of votes. Let's hope we'll see it on Cloudron soon. Fingers crossed.
-
I stumbled across a potential alternative to this
https://github.com/HiEventsDev/Hi.Events -
@AartJansen nice find !
-
@AartJansen Looks good. Is there a separate request we can upvote?
-
@AartJansen looks great! (have you already) creat(ed) an App Wishlist post for it!(?)
-
@jdaviescoates No, I haven't. Actually I don't have a use case for it, I just stumbled across a reddit thread about it, and saw it was receiving positive attention.
Before I made a app wish here, I searched, found there was already an event app wish (this thread) and just thought it was worth mentioning to see if others with more interest, and deeper understanding of requirements also thought it was as good, or perhaps not what they wanted. -
It's a pity that after more than 6 years on the Wishlist, high ranked, one of the best and complete Open Source Event Ticketing software, while there is no single equivalent in the App Store ... it's still not available

One of the best? Is there a viable alternative?

I still hope we will see pretix on Cloudron soon.
