Error connecting Cloudron email to Gmail

  • Got this error after trying to add my cloudron email to Gmail online client! Does anyone know what it means?

Missing +OK response upon connecting to the server: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE AUTH=PLAIN] Dovecot (Ubuntu) ready.

  • As long as I remember Cloudron does not support POP3 so it should not be possible to add a Cloudron mail account into Gmail.

You can add a mail forward for incoming mails (ManageSieve) to your Cloudron and add your Cloudron account as "
Send as" address (SMTP) in Gmail.

  • @affinity As an alternative - Add the rainloop app and add your gmail AND cloudron accounts to that instead (you can configure gmail as an account once you login I believE)

Indeed, @subven is correct. Cloudron does not support POP3.

I wasn't aware of this gmail feature. What does it do? Pull all email into gmail periodically? Very cool actually. Does it allow you to reply with that email id as well?
