Got this error after trying to add my cloudron email to Gmail online client! Does anyone know what it means?

Missing +OK response upon connecting to the server: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE AUTH=PLAIN] Dovecot (Ubuntu) ready.

As long as I remember Cloudron does not support POP3 so it should not be possible to add a Cloudron mail account into Gmail.

You can add a mail forward for incoming mails (ManageSieve) to your Cloudron and add your Cloudron account as "
Send as" address (SMTP) in Gmail.

@affinity As an alternative - Add the rainloop app and add your gmail AND cloudron accounts to that instead (you can configure gmail as an account once you login I believE)

Indeed, @subven is correct. Cloudron does not support POP3.

I wasn't aware of this gmail feature. What does it do? Pull all email into gmail periodically? Very cool actually. Does it allow you to reply with that email id as well?

@girish Any news about this? I have a customer that wants to add his Cloudron email addresses to his gmail account because of the UX it offers. Adding the account will allow gmail to receive and send emails with the Cloudron email address. So it's a cool feature! Unfortunately, gmail only supports POP3 or Gmailify.

@alex-adestech Out of curiosity, doesn't using Gmail to send and receive sort of defeat the whole purpose of self-hosting email? Or maybe it just depends on what the main goal is I guess. Do I misunderstand how Gmail does that with another POP account, perhaps?

@alex-adestech POP3 support is not planned. Can you open a feature request in https://forum.cloudron.io/category/97/feature-requests and we can prioritize based on interest.
