@jdaviescoates I very much like this client - but can it do IRC bouncing?

@murgero I don't know, but it seems to be the web IRC that everyone uses these days

Seems like the reasonable thing to do is look for an IRC client able of persistent connections, like IRCcloud. From what I reckon Kiwi IRC is just a bunch of static files so it can be served from anywhere and doesnโ€™t really need a server like Cloudron to work.

Personally I use a Matrix server with an IRC bridge to achieve bouncer-like persistant connectivity but some people may not like that. ๐Ÿค“

@jdaviescoates How does Kiwi compare to the lounge? The latter is already available on Clourdon at https://cloudron.io/store/io.github.thelounge.html.

@fbartels not sure, will have a play with lounge... Just noticed lots of people seem to use kiwi so figure it likely fits Cloudron goal of having to 3 apps in each category available ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

For bouncer, we had a znc app which never got completed - https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/znc-app

@girish Luckily - Lounge acts as a bouncer and even remains connected to IRC servers while you are offline.

I've finally got around to playing around with The Lounge and I actually much prefer it to Kiwi IRC! ๐Ÿ˜„

It seems really fast and responsive and I love how it stays connected.
