Cloudron is recommended to have a min of 1GB ram. I'm sitting here with a few tabs open to

    1. Scaleway's Stardust1-s, with 1 GB, but only 10 GB disk space
    2. Hetzner's CX11, with 2GB ram and 20GB disk space
    3. Netcup's VPS 200 G8, with the min 2GB/20GB
    4. UltraVPS.eu's UltraKVM-30, with 1.5GB/30GB
    5. Contabo's offerings which have at least 4GB/200GB

Does anyone have any experience running Cloudron on these low-spec, cheap VPSes specifically (not looking for recommendations of other company's offerings)? They are cheap enough (<5 euro/month) I could just try them all out, but if anyone could share their experience first that would be handy.

If no one can, maybe I'll just go ahead and try them all and report back!
    Thanks.

@scooke When I first stumbled upon Cloudron and wanted to try it. It worked great on a $5 DigitalOcean droplet: 1GB RAM / 1vCPU / 1TB TRANSFER / 25GB SSD

@humptydumpty Thanks for the response. Did you try any of the above? I was a long DO user, but have been moving away from them, so I doubt I'd go back. Thanks anyway.

@hillside502 Thanks for the reply. I already have 2 VPSs from time4vps actually. I'm hoping for feedback about the specific VPS offerings above however, not suggestions about other companies. Cheers.

I have one of these setup, works great with a single WP website + Matomo for €3/month, barely sniffs the CPU and uses only a third of the available RAM. Happy to recommend.

Obligatory referral link (€20 credit for you & €10 for me) so effectively 6.5 months with one of those for free: https://hetzner.cloud/?ref=yzKK5uvR2AD0

Honestly, this will mostly depend on which two apps you want to run. There's a huge spectrum of actual RAM required based on which apps and how many users you want to support on it.

@jimcavoli Exactly, thus the request for feedback from whoever may have used it! @marcusquinn gave the perfect kind of answer. I'm not actually planning on running Matomo, but nevertheless, hearing from someone about their experience on one or more of the 5 I listed is helpful, for me, to gauge which one to use.

Last I checked this was out of stock.

But Scaleway do look very good. They apparently have the best PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) in Europe. And only use properly renewable energy.

                      Hetzner's CX11, with 2GB ram and 20GB disk space

I think that's what I started on. Have had no problems with Hetzner. Great prices, great UI and 100% renewable energy.

                      Netcup's VPS 200 G8, with the min 2GB/20GB

Also 100% renewable and even better prices than Hetzner, but no way near as good UX. And even though the charge by the hour you have to pay 6 months up front.

                      UltraVPS.eu's UltraKVM-30, with 1.5GB/30GB

Hadn't seen this one before. Looks like their Amsterdam location is renewably powered, but the rest aren't.

Contabo's offerings which have at least 4GB/200GB

                      No renewable energy.
