Hi all,
Scalar is a "Born-digital, open-source, media-rich scholarly publishing that's as easy as blogging." platform based on PHP and MySQL, built using Codeigniter framework. It is a fantastic piece of software that makes creating rich media books, monographs, and academic publications easy and functional. The installation looks straightforward - copying files to the public folder and importing a .sql file into the database.
I followed the instructions on the github and am able to get a response. Installation is here: http://scalar.academe.ac.nzHowever, the home page is all mangled up. The logs do not show any errors. I presume I missed something in the config.php
I could use some help here. Does anything in the installation directions point to something I might have to configure in the LAMP app of Cloudron? I am lost and any pointers would be great.
Thank you very much.

Found the issue.
The application required PHP short tags.
Enabled it by adding 'short_open_tag = on' in Php.ini. -
