Is there a collaborative coding app of any kind available?

    Most of our development team works with regular coding tools like vscode and git; however, some of us would like to work in a "live" environment with a collaborative coding editor like Cloud9 or Firepad.

    Does anyone use any of the current Cloudron apps in this way? Any suggestions to try?

    For example, does Gitea or Gogs enable a cloud-based edit & deploy cycle? Would EtherPad be suitable here (although, it seems unable to choose which files to collaborate on)?

    Thanks!

    @canadaduane I think you should be looking more into the direction of https://www.gitpod.io/

    Also vscode supports live share of the editor, this is the fastest and simplest way to achieve that asap.

    @canadaduane

    Please upvote and/or sponsor the packaging of Gitpod.

    For now the best we have is Etherpad, CryptPad, HedgeDoc (HackMD/CodiMD), and NextCloud, which are much more writing focused, not coding.

    @robi gitpod is a kubernetes native app, I see no way packaging this software.

    @BrutalBirdie oh, wasn't aware... as I found the original thread with the self-hosting links.

    We should probably close that thread and app request too.

    Alternatives?

    @canadaduane since you're already using vs code you could try it's life share functionality. I've used it with colleges half way around the globe and it worked pretty stable.
