      @jeau Hi, the affine's database is pretty much done and will be released soon this month later, and also the client version is going to be released as well together since it fully supports the slick offline use and data privacy. Can keep an eye on its official website: https://affine.pro/, more info is coming soon!!

      @JackiePengp thanks

          Looks like my timing was just a little off. Selfhosted version of Affine was released, but from speaking to a friend, there were some issues with it and people had difficulty getting it up and running. Docs were updated several times as recently as yesterday. So it might be best to wait for the dust to settle.

            And also from the developers :

            I would like to clarify that the pricing details currently displayed on our pricing page pertain exclusively to our cloud-based version. We are in the process of developing a distinct pricing structure for our self-hosted solution, which will encompass a variety of offerings and commitment levels tailored to meet diverse needs.

            So maybe wait as well for the self-hosted business model to be finished

                          Contrary to the promotion, the application is not a native client, as defined. The application is based on Electron, and, at least from a personal experience, it is unusable because it consumes an excessive amount of a system's resources.

                            @ctrl Fair enough. I still think people need a solid FOSS Notion alt, so it's just to fill that gap in a FOSS team's tooklit.

                                  I'm about to test it on my vps-hosted Coolify which I run in addition to Cloudron. I'll check if that consumes a lot of resources or not. If that's a nice app, I might help to package it for Cloudron, if doable.

                                    Unfortunately the AI features are not available yet for the self hosted version. I also found the tool Interface quite confusing. Maybe I'll wait and package something else, but I'm likely not the ideal target for Affine.

                                      As a long-term Notion user, I have been testing it locally for a few days. It seems very promising; the import of simple pages from Notion is smooth and easy. It would be great to run it on Cloudron.
