    Hello,
I've a bare-metal dedicated server and my provider offer me 200GB of backup storage space.
Instead of mounting in /mnt/ my ftp remote directory, why not integrated the FTP in the backup place ?

    Thanks

I agree this will be a nice feature to have. We will prioritize based on how many people request it. Thanks

@girish Contabo offer unlimited RAID 6 backup storage via internal network FTPS for €3.99/month on all packages.

I've not seen any specs or pricing on any other host able to beat them for CPUs, RAM & SSD space per €, and our team and others here seem to be happy with their performance, reliability and support.

Having an FTPS option for backups would make Contabo the most bang for bucks hosting setup I could think of, and I'm sure useful for other hosting options too given its relative ease and performance.

I'd seriously consider moving things from Hetzner & Wasabi if this were an option because commitments to hosting costs tend to be for a very long time and once the money's gone, it's gone. All these costs add up to eat out of Managed Service Provider and Value Added Reseller margins after-all.

@marcusquinn restic + rclone might be able to do that easily. (both are OSS)

Ooops, correction, it's €3.99 for 100GB and €19.99 for 1TB, doesn't show you that until you tick the option on the config page. The Unlimited part is just for bandwidth.

OK, So Wasabi still seems cheaper on the backups, with Hetzner Storage Boxes sometimes less if you'd be adding and deleting a lot of files on Wasabi.

In this case, I don't know another need for FTP backups, so defer to others if anyone knows other options, perhaps home-servers with it.

FTPs can be a solution for scaling and the support for vhost make it easier to manage permission on the storage servers, and storage clusters.

And ftps should perform in almost any circumstances better then sftp.

This would go well with a secondary backup facility for all things Cloudron doesn't currently back up, which is valuable, such as Volumes.

Add a few protocols for this such as FTPS, SFTP, RCLONE, RSYNC, etc..
