Akaunting - Free Accounting Software

If Akaunting does support this, then it's interesting, otherwise (for me anyway) it doesn't work well.
I've not double checked, but I doubt you can submit anything anywhere with Akaunting, just keep track of and prepare figures.
Similarly, I don't think Akaunting (nor any other open source web accounting software I'm aware of) will automatically import bank feeds etc either (I don't mind submitting my own accounts and tax returns, but I can't live without automatically importing transactions!)
I use FreeAgent (10% off a subscription with that link) which works very well for my circumstances.
Lots of people seem to use Xero too.

Thanks!
Now, I'm very interested!

@jdaviescoates I'm using FreeAgent too - free if you are with Natwest !
Very happy with Quickfile too - written by / for accountants, but good for business too.
I like Hledger also ... but it's quite hard-core - accounting with text files ! And of course no VAT submission options.
Taxcalc is great for CoHouse/HMRC submissions : not cheap, but top notch. Written for accountants so really good (if you know what you're doing !)
Shame about Akaunting but if FreeAgent start charging me, I might give it a go.
@timconsidine
for Quickfile - one of my favourite non-open-source apps.

What is the current status of Akaunting? I tried installing it in a LAMP stack but that doesn't seem to work
So I have been trying to install akaunting within a LAMP stack with limited success. There is an error during installation, but it runs fairly normal after that. However, some plugins don't work properly and updating via GUI/CLI doesn't work. Support narrowed it down to the path of the PHP executable not being correct and gave me this link: https://akaunting.com/hc/docs/faq/i-cant-install-apps/
I would like to try this out by changing the PHP path in the env as described in the documentation:
APP_PHP_PATH="/usr/bin/php8.0"
@girish Could you help me with this? Is it
/etc/php/8.1

I guess this is an Akaunting variable ? If so, this would be
/usr/bin/php8.1
in the lamp app. -

?@andreasdueren Did you have any more luck in making Akaunting functional?

@avatar1024 I’m still testing it but it seems to be working now after spending bigger amounts of time troubleshooting quirks and errors

@andreasdueren Great to hear! If you get the chance to share the process you've followed that'd be much appreciated.
Also do you think some of your work might get us closer to get a Cloudron package for it?
