Simply, Why Is Cloudron not adding New VoIP Apps???
    All they have is TeamSpeak?
It is about time Cloudron started to add more apps.
    VoIP is in high demand.
Why are they not putting discord alternatives on because everyone says they hate discord now, so I hear and there are some great new projects out there coming up.
Jitsi has got to be one of the worst apps.

I notice these companies are always trying to go for the corporate companies, but not the normal user who just wants to host his own VoIP server.
They would get a lot more money if Cloudron would aim for all ideas/users instead of just corporate alone.

    It's all about the money.

Cloudron, please listen to your customers.

Jitsi and rocketchat is old and heavy, let's get some better apps on.

I have been waiting for so long for a discord alternative and there are a lot out there, so please add them, so we can enjoy more of them and continue to use Cloudron.

    Best regards.

I don't agree that Cloudron aims just for corporate. Kinda the opposite.
I used Jitsi very happily for a while. Not now, mostly because I don't do that kind of stuff much now.
Certainly agree with you on Discord. And Teamspeak is ... well, <cough>
VOIP is complicated field for self-hosting. I just mean it's not easy to do.

EDIT : you might want to edit title line to add 'not' ... if you can.

@sir-paradise What VoIP apps do you have in mind & have you already tested them? Do you have any recommendations based on your experience?

I think Jitsi is geat, and use Nextcloud Talk quite a lot too, but I'd love to see Mumble and Jam on Cloudron too.

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

@timconsidine Oooops your right I forgot to put Not in the tittle, and now I have no idea how to change it lol

Also I agree, at least Mumble or Jam or Zello.
There are some new projects coming up like Revolt.chat coming up too.

Zello is excellent and I would love to see that on cloudron.

That looks good, but doesn't look it is really designed to be self-hosted apart from on their "price on application" enterprise plans for large organisations.

I think Mumble is probably the best bet, but I'd love to have Jam too.

The Mirotalk range of a/v apps can be self-hosted. There is a topic for it here on the forum.

my 2 cents for more VoIP apps (and no, it is not an implicit addition to the app wishlist):

why is that? because you don't they'd be suitable to run on Cloudron due to their complexity? or?

@jdaviescoates I've been running freepbx on a dedicated $6 VPS for a few years now and it works without fail. It could be an addition but I don't think it's worth investing time to convert it to a Cloudron app. The automatic updates are fully functional. And only a few times a month do I have to click on some "apply changes" buttons. A firewall is built in to separate administration from normal use. It's so easy to install and a bit "fire & forget", like a Cloudron app. https://www.freepbx.org/get-started/ Let us rather invest lifetime in other projects.

In short, Wazo seems to be a beast. And since it is a niche tool, I don't think we can build a reliable testing infrastructure for updates.

I think they should at least try all these out because reading up, you guys have some great suggestions, but I am not seeing them even try as simple one like Mumble. I really hope they are reading this and taking note on how much we want some VoIP Chat clients on Cloudron.

@luckow @jdaviescoates Would like to suggest another hosted VoIP service: https://questblue.com. They are U.S. based (not sure if that is a potential issue for EU customers) but have been very happy with service, value and support. We looked at FreePBX, 3CX, etc. and found QuestBlue by accident looking for reasonable DiDs. When we found they offered a hosted PBX we never looked back. We can order international DiDs from many countries, but I do not know if existing International DiDs can be ported in. We currently have a dedicated server with backup and several DiDs, Fax (for rare occasions) and we are paying ~ $US25/month. No issues for 1 year+ we have been a customer. Highly recommended.
