      Everyone,
I intend to pay to have a Cloudron app developed for us. I'm looking for a SMS/MMS/Voice service that uses Twilo as the back end. Besides having a requirement for Cloudron compatability, is there anything I should be asking for? Any tips on pricing? I have a few grand to throw at this, so I would like to do this right.
Please offer any and all tips or advice.

You mean, you pay someone to develop a web application for the Twilio client + package this app for cloudron. In my opinion these are two different tasks.

You also have to keep in mind that you need someone to maintain the app and the cloudron package otherwise it will not go well for long.

From what I saw, there is the option to pay cloudrons developers to package the app for cloudron. Maybe you pay someone to develop an docker app + reach out to cloudron since they should be more efficient when it comes to packaging/integration.

        Some random thoughts:

        • What are your intentions / what is your goal?
        • Alternatives to Twilio? Kazoo?
        • What license are you using?
        • Are you aiming at open source at all?

If you want to do it "right", this could be a big project that quickly burns your budget so well-formulated UATs would be good.

By the sound of it you simply need to pay @girish and @nebulon to properly package playSMS for Cloudron, and perhaps pay Anton (author of playSMS) to extend it with an LDAP feature if that’s not already present. playSMS supports Twilio as gateway, among several other services.

@yusf Play SMS looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I'll reach out to the dev.

Goal: Have an SMS app on Cloudron.
Open to alternatives, but Twilo is a pretty great platform, I'd have to be convinced.
Licensing, I'm not addressing that right now. Its too sticky of a question. Open to input.
                On Open sourcing, yeah, absolutely.

@christiaan I’ve no idea of what ”voice” means in this case. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Perhaps sending an audio message that you record, like WeChat?

@yusf I meant voice communications. As in, phone calls.

@will Anton, the developer, also has a VOIP project - "VoIP ID is a Free and Open Source Software to build a hosted VoIP server or hosted IPPBX service. The project continuously powers Telepon Rakyat (http://teleponrakyat.id) Indonesia cloud VoIP service server."
