I just got to send someone an email to +@domain.com 🆒

So then I did some reading here:
    https://help.returnpath.com/hc/en-us/articles/220560587-What-are-the-rules-for-email-address-syntax-

The most commonly used special characters are the period (.), underscore(_), hyphen (-) and plus sign (+).

So trying that.. I was able to create a mailbox with (-) and (.), however not with (+) or (_).

Furthermore with each of those mailboxes, the aliases seem to have a different set of rules for validation rules. (None of the above seem to work.)

Lastly a mini-bug, when one clicks to add a mailbox the cursor is in the text box, however it doesn't do that with clicking to add an alias (please fix!).

Next snafu (bug) is that the (-) mailbox can be deleted, but the (.) doesn't happen with a glitchy [Delete] button.

underscore is allowed from next release. '+' is not allowed because it is used for subaddresses - https://docs.cloudron.io/email/#subaddresses

@girish great on underscore, how do I clean up the dot mailbox?

perhaps CLI will do what the UI cannot

@girish JUst saw you added the subaddresses feature - great stuff - that's very useful!

We're not here for a long time - but we are here for a good time :)

Think it's been there for a while.

Perhaps it's just recently been added to the docs, but using + was possible when I first tested Cloudron email (because I used it a lot with Gmail).

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

Indeed, they were using different validation modules. I have fixed this.

    Also fixed.

@girish will this be removable in the next release?
