The Cloudron Google ranking is too good

I noticed two strange posts in the Mattermost app section recently and was wondering how people would think to post here. So I opened a private session in a browser I not frequently use and searched for "mattermost forum" and this was the result:

Funnily enough the Mattermost section in this forum is shown before even reddit.

Edit: maybe the subsection needs a pinned post explaining what Cloudron is and that everything not related to the Cloudron platform should be posted at forum.mattermost.com instead. but do people read pinned posts?

We have noticed that as well ourselves, as it gets a bit in the way when searching for solutions on app issues, too often our own forum is there. We have not really done anything special at all for SEO, so that is probably thanks to nodeBB presenting information itself and more importantly, you all keeping the forum filled with up-to-date content!

We used to have a banner on the forum, but that was removed when me moved to the new nodeBB theme. Have to see how to bring that back.

Not looked in depth at nodeBB, but would be good to know how to populate Meta Descriptions, as they can also help.

Yeah, I've noticed this for quite a few searches in the past. Quite often when searching for open source apps the Cloudron forum is at or near the top!

Maybe Google is taking note of the usernames... if some of us are active elsewhere with the same username, I wonder if that factors into how lively and useful this Forum is?

imho @nebulon is right on the money. It certainly is due to the fact that the forum is well alive and constantly updated with fresh content.

But I believe it's also because of the relevancy of the content when it is added by us, it's always at the cutting edge of tech knowledge in the FOSS industry, and since it's a forum that also marks threads as "resolved" I guess that might be caught somehow by their algorithm to establish some highly relevant content.

Cloudron is the ultimate flywheel business. More users -> more community -> more insight -> more relevance -> more traffic -> more users -> more investment -> more apps -> more relevance -> more community -> more users

The whole reason I invest in this forum, and the crafting of my posts with SEO considerations, is the ROI I get from its growth in capabilities and like-minds to compare notes.

It's like having the best sys admin team to work with, everyone's here for the results, the better results everyone gets, the more come here to help with more positive results.
