Scaleway, IBM and any other provider that has added Object storage. So the better approach is to look for object storage providers and see if they have VPS offerings too.

Zulip is quite different UI-wise from other chat applications. It's concept of threads/topics may or may not be confusing depending on what previous chat application you used. https://rust-lang.zulipchat.com/ is rust lang's zulip instance if you want to check it out.

Does anyone have experiences to share about Zulip here?

@jdaviescoates said in Suggested VPS for Volumes:

Yeah you don't need a proper VPS at all just storage like eg Hetzner Storage Box

    https://www.hetzner.com/storage/storage-box

    That's what I use.

I wish they'd release this in the US. I contacted them and one person said no plans to expand any other services in the US and another said we don't share our roadmap plans.

@necrevistonnezr Ah yes, that has some good stuff too, thanks for sharing that! 🙂 I think that article's steps still has some long downtime (at least when using object storage since it's so slow) but at least it's a bit more automated which is really cool.

@LoudLemur said in need help from French speakers:

Cloudron could try and circulate this in Canada.

Not too sure of what you mean by that?

Nevertheless, je vois que si ça continue on pourra faire un forum en français bientôt 😛

right, so in the cases I've tested it just exits with:

/usr/sbin/sshd -T sshd: no hostkeys available -- exiting.

I'm pretty sure it already is, see e.g. numerous mentions here https://fossbilling.org/docs/changelog#-enhancements

https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/8785/avx-support-in-your-vps-server/ has some background for this topic. It's possible to skip mongodb but so far we haven't found that it's worth the effort most CPUs of the last decade have AVX support.

Like Hetzner, Contabo also offers DDoS protection:
    https://contabo.com/en/ddos-protection/#what-are-the-limits-of-contabo-ddos-protection

    From Claude AI:

Here are a few key points comparing layer 7 and layer 4 DDoS mitigation for protecting websites that stream audio/video:

Layer 7 (application layer) DDoS protection can detect and mitigate more sophisticated application-layer attacks that target weaknesses in the web application code, such as HTTP floods, low and slow attacks, and exploits that abuse APIs.

Layer 4 (transport layer) DDoS protection focuses on network and volumetric attacks like UDP and ICMP floods which aim to consume bandwidth and overload infrastructure.

For streaming websites, a hybrid approach providing both layer 4 and 7 mitigation is recommended. Layer 4 protects against bandwidth-exhaustion attacks while layer 7 covers exploits at the application layer.

Top providers known for DDoS protection services include Cloudflare, Akamai, Imperva, F5 Networks, and Radware. Specific solutions include:

    Cloudflare Magic Transit and Spectrum
    Akamai Prolexic Routed
    Imperva Advanced DDoS Protection
    F5 Silverline
    Radware DefensePro
Features like behavioral analysis, per-client throttling, SSL decryption, and integration with CDNs and DNS services make these robust protections against network and app-layer DDoS attacks.

In summary, combining layer 4 and 7 DDoS mitigation from a reputable provider gives streaming sites the best protection against volumetric bandwidth attacks and application exploits. Cloudflare, Akamai, and Imperva are leaders in the space

Yes, anyone attempting the install, even locally, is useful to grab the log and get a sense of the changes and how the installer might need to be modified.

So go ahead, even if it doesn't work, it's useful data.

    No fear!

No, /app/data is persistent storage and would survive updates and restarts.

@Kubernetes same here, or at least on reboot, like a run once, then on cron.

@girish that was the odd part, the dashboard domain had the IP set right, but all other sites didn't and needed re-syncing
