As a general policy on our side, we only support such customizations if upstream has some documented and support way to do so. Otherwise it becomes impossible for us to test updates. So you can always build your own package from our package repo and update and test your app instance yourself then. Otherwise might be good to let upstream know that there is further interest in supporting this.
