Out of curiosity what constitutes an app being selected or not? 27 upvotes (at time of writing), a lot of engagement and views, clearly a very good fit for the Cloudron platform (which already has Baserow, Nocodb, Directus etc).. When a platform already has Docker support does that make it more or less difficult to get it onto Cloudron? I would assume it is easier?
-
@umnz - I'm new here, but one thing that helps is someone wanting it enough to follow the guide to package it up, confirm it works, and notify the dev team. https://docs.cloudron.io/packaging/tutorial/ .
But, as someone who has packaged up an app that is waiting for attention I'd be a bit (selfishly) upset to see yet another "no code database" package on Cloudron before mine was selected.

@girish @nebulon
Maybe you'd like to comment? What are the chances we'll see Grist on Cloudron soonish?

@timconsidine Grist is miles above Noco and Baserow. I'd love to see it on Cloudron.
-
@firmansi And I guess that would get solved if you ran your instance on a more local server...one more reason for Grist on Cloudron

Anyone want Grist ?
Grist-core now packaged as a custom app.
I will add it to CCAI if requested
(don't take this the wrong way but needs a request - sometimes there is initial appetite for an app and it dissipates over time and this is quite an old Wishlist item) -

After initially not finding Grist on Cloudron, i ended up deploying it on another VPS, using a Portainer/docker-compose based setup.
Would be great if the complete Grist package can be managed within Cloudron itself!

@shrey ok will post it here
โComplete packageโ ?
As I understand it, the open source web version is called grist-core. Donโt know why โcoreโ.
Itโs probably the same as your docker-compose version.
Maybe the SaaS hosted or thick clients have extra.Disclaimer : I suffer from PSSD (post spreadsheet stress disorder) so not an expert on Grist and not used it heavily. But saw there was a demand for it -and it looks cool.

@Camille no rush
Let me know any issues.
Not sure I will use much myself so might not encounter them.I packaged because there seemed to be demand by others. Hope it helps.
@timconsidine I think part of the interest is that I think it integrates with Outline
-
OMG an integration

Ok will investigate -

It has something to do with grist sandboxing. GRIST_SANDBOX_FLAVOR can apparently be pyodide or gvisor. Not sure which one we have to use, but the Dockerfile has some python install, so we are going for pyodide is it?
