pretix - Ticketing software that cares about your event—all the way

@imc67 good investigating!
Tickets for recurring events seems to often be something that is lacking (e.g. it's the same for pretty much every WordPress events plugin too - the only one I've found that does tickets for recurring events is this one https://10web.io/plugins/wordpress-event-calendar/ although I've not actually tried it yet)
-
@jdaviescoates indeed, between the first lockdown and the current I've setup a Wordpress site in Cloudron with a plugin called "Appointment Hour Booking", that is very basic but with some workarounds just sufficient enough.
Pretix is in such case much more 'professional' looking and dedicated for its job.
-
@imc67 I think something nicer could be recreated quite quickly in EspoCRM by creating a booking.example.com "Portal".
TBH I'm finding EspoCRM so fast to work with as a framework that most other CRUD apps could be recreated with it.

Similarly to me finding it a little strange that you were comparing Easy Appointments to Attendize and Pretix, I find it mildly bizarre that you tried to create an events thing on WordPress using an Appointment Hour Booking plugin instead of the many many WordPress plugins actually designed for creating Events based websites
-
@jdaviescoates the use case are not events but time slots for a museum ...
-
@jdaviescoates @girish @nebulon I really hope this gets more attention as it will also be the first in it’s kind on Cloudron and also really needed in the hopefully soon coming release of the lockdowns.
I see apps on the wishlist with less votes getting here sooner.

@jdaviescoates Actually, pretix would work great for digital events too - webinars, etc.
They support webinars in their paid versions, but I am sure the open source version can be used to register attendees for online events too.On this topic, has anybody tried out https://www.attendize.com/? Development seems to have stalled (site last updated in 2020). Github: https://github.com/Attendize/Attendize
Docker: https://www.attendize.com/getting_started.html#running-attendize-in-docker-for-development

the only open-source self-hosted software of its type
@Sam_uk
Indeed!Open Source Eventbrite Alternatives | AlternativeTo

@Sam_uk No FOSS, but worth a look from my research on similar: https://www.thundertix.com/
Do bear in mind that Eventbrite has somewhat of a network effect for promoting events in justification for it's higher fees though.

Open Source Eventbrite Alternatives | AlternativeTo
https://alternativeto.net/software/eventbrite/?license=opensourceThanks, I just discovered gath.io because of that and have created an app wishlist post here:
-
It’s one of the “pro” categories that is missing on Cloudron and we desperately need it.
-
I realise it's not everyone's cup of tea, but always worth looking at WordPress plugin options for things like this. Always amazes me how many things that ecosystem solves, plus all data integrated with the hosting website, to save from setting up separate sites and data synching for these sorts of things.

Bump.
Eventbrite are charging for free ticketed events with over 25 tickets, so there may be renewed interest in this.
