From a UI perspective I much prefer Astuto

The demo isn't working for me, but I've just checked the screenshots from github and it does look nice 🙂

But, no that different to Fider either, so intrigued as to why you much prefer Astuto UI? 🙂

Looks nice and simple. Cross-posting Flarum as a similar app too:

@girish I just had a look at the GitHub, and it's one of those projects where low numbers doesn't mean it's not stable yet.

It's already in production for some big websites (like OBS project, but there are othey examples, see https://github.com/getfider/fider/issues/899 ), and while the developer had burned out in the past, they have now committed, more than a year ago, to stay on PR submitted and security updates.

Meantime Clearflask (mentioned above) seems actively more mature and in more production use than Fider, so would probably get my vote.

It really feels like a bounty / marketplace for docker-cloudronification** would open up this challenge to more people, and allow easier prioritisation.

    Something like https://app.bountysource.com/

    ** Because I don't understand what I'm talking about

@eddowding This bounty type development has been talked about multiple times across the years, and it never took off in the Cloudron app packaging context.
Having packagers scratch their itch or Cloudron devs taking time to do it for their customers has been the most successful ways of getting an app packaged.

Interestingly, one of the thing valued by Fider users is its simplicity. Not everyone has the same needs, so different solutions with different approaches are equally valuable.

@ruihildt I find it .. hard to believe that the ROI wouldn't be worth it.

Ooh I want to do some napkin maths: how many apps could a f/t dev cloudronify per month?

@eddowding my napkin / fag packet is 2 - 4 apps p/month, allowing for testing and preserving Cloudron standards and quality.
Which is quite a high cost per app.
And some complex apps may be simply not possible.
    Just my 2p.

I still think Flarum is the more mature and polished option in this area:

@marcusquinn that's a different category, no? feedback vs forum.

    Like comparing uservoice and nodebb.

@robi Hmmm, I thought they used to have more of an upvote layout. Maybe my ageing memory.

    Maybe also Astuto:

Nope, your memory is good, you've seen people use Flarum for Fider type use case which it also does very well:

    @marcusquinn said in Flarum - next-generation forum:

Just discovered this used at orionfeedback.org for browser.kagi.com

Got to say, both the browser and the feedback forum are very fast and nice.
