      Devs,
Does setting the well-known hostname for the riot setup work for matrix too? I noticed for Riot I was will@rimmer.cloud, but for mastadon I was will@social.rimmer.cloud. Any way to unify that?

@will Yes, it’s in the Mastodon docs.

For Matrix for whatever reason I eneded up doing the well-known folder AND svr record. It wouldn't work properly without both, which I thought was strange but I am running a custom app on my root domain which may or may not have been an issue.

@murgero My understanding is that SRV is obsolete but still needed by older clients (i.e pre-1.0 clients). Do you happen to use any old client? Otherwise, riot itself shouldn't need it.

@girish I needed it to be able to properly federate with other Matrix servers. Like I said, it was pretty weird.
