@nebulon I can confirm that ssh via raw ip works right now...but it did not work during that four hour period.

How to access Cloudron Dashboard and Apps when DNS is not resolving?@girish Thanks...from the instructions (via the link), it appears that I should keep a backup domain name ready!

How to access Cloudron Dashboard and Apps when DNS is not resolving? How do I access the Cloudron Dashboard + my Cloudron Apps when my domain's DNS is down/ blocked/ etc. Can I access the dashboard and apps via the server ip:port no? Why can't I access my Cloudron server via SSH using the server IP when my DNS is down/blocked/etc?
I guess my overall question is: how (access-wise) resilient are the email, VPN and private communications apps self-hosted via Cloudron... or is their access completely at the mercy of the folks who control the DNS system.
*Background:
Pakistan has shut down internet access to all social media - by blocking DNS - for the last 5-6 days due to political turmoil; India has "banned" 14 hosted encrypted messaging apps - one of which is on Cloudron - by blocking DNS, etc, etc.I have been running Cloudron for over three years on multiple domains. Two days ago, the domain on which I host my Cloudron dashboard + the other domains/sub-domains on which I host my Cloudron VPN(s)/ Nextcloud(s)/ Matrix/Element(s), email(s), email clients, etc suddenly became inaccessible. The DNS propagation tests for these domains/subdomains showed that their DNS's had not propogated globally and were not resolving. However, for the same domains, where the subdomains were hosting Wordpress, Wiki and Surfer apps, the DNS addresses were resolving globally and these apps remained accessible. I was not able to access the the Cloudron server via by ssh using the server ip because Cloudron design apparently disallows this. This app-access-related problem(s) due to DNS suddenly went away after four hours.*

Matrix-WhatsApp Bridge with DockerCouldn't this Docker App be packaged as an App on Cloudron...and networked with the Cloudron Synapse Server app?
It would essentially be one big part of the new "Element One" offering from Element Matrix Services.

High Performance Back-end for Nextcloud Files"Syncing at a new level: 10x to 100x": With Instant Sync thanks to the High Performance Back-end for Files introduced earlier this year, and the File Packing coming to V2 of the Sync Engine, both user experience and server load will dramatically improve.
For the server, idle load will have decreased by 10x thanks to the HPB, while during syncing the number of connections is also reduced by about a factor 10!
Users will benefit from instant availability of their files, even if they need to have large numbers of small files made available locally.
Nextcloud Sync v2 will be made available as part of a desktop client release later this year, alongside the release of Nextcloud 23.

Version numbers after updating to latestUpdate: all previously disabled apps now running flawlessly after the latest 22.1.1 update. The new "Voice Messages" feature in Talk/ Spreed is delightful!
-
Version numbers after updating to latest@luckow Thanks, that worked.
I had to disable the following incompatible apps:
- Spreed
- Deck
- Group Folders
- Automated Tagging
- Track Downloads
They all show up in the App Store as "enable Untested App"
-
Version numbers after updating to latestBoth my Nextcloud apps were "updated to 21.0.3 (package version 4.9.2)". One is working, the other is status "not responding" in the app dashboard.
Screenshot of login page attached:
Should I reinstall the "not responding" one from an earlier backup?

High Performance Back-end for Nextcloud Files@avatar1024 This docker-compose example on Reddit indicates the need for an additional container + an open port + env variables.

collectd failed to start after upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04To close this, turned out that "libpython3.8" was missing on my newly upgraded 20.04 Hetzner system...therefore I was getting the message "dependency problems prevent configuration of collectd"
-
collectd failed to start after upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04@girish After upgrading Cloudron 6.2.8 from 18.04 to 20.04 on Hetzner, collectd status = (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE).
Have run start.sh (etc...as recommended by the docs) twice...but did not solve the issue.
Not clear (to me) from this post what the solution is (i.e. I don't have quotation marks around the LD_PRELOAD variable in the file:/etc/default/collectd).

"Cloudron Pro" for large scale, production ready managed apps?Cloudron = no toil self-hosting for families and small enterprises with a small support contract
Cloudron Pro = no toil, large scale, production ready, high availability, self-hosted, fully integrated app stacks for larger enterprises with a larger support contract???
Building on Mark Shuttleworth's
at DockerCon 2021 (that explained the potential of Ubuntu + Juju + Charms), this could be an opportunity for the Cloudron devs...and their enthusiastic community? Here is an example of a large scale, production ready Nextcloud stack charm about to be released.
If I have understood Shuttleworth's presentation correctly, based on the inputs of the Cloudron community discussions, a "Cloudron Pro" Nextcloud charm could implement and support a manged Nextcloud + Collabora/ OpenOffice + High Performance Backend for Files charm(s).

This worked really well on my first migration...just one accessibilty-linked issue to resolve.Thank you very much...this is a wonderfully helpful community!

Migrating Wordpress Cloudways to CloudronI too need to migrate 6 highly customised Wordpress sites built with 6 different themes/ pagebuilders from Cloudways to Cloudron. Petrified!!!
A guide on how to migrate themes + plugins + content + media + javascript/css customisations + settings + Google Analytics will be highly appreciated!

Specs for a video chat with 5-10 people, all mostly in Europe@scooke said in Specs for a video chat with 5-10 people, all mostly in Europe:
I’m tasked with providing an alternative
The proven self-hosted Zoom alternative is a non-Cloudron, self-hosted Jitsi. It just works. Here is a "one-click" install!
The Cloudron Nextcloud Talk can (standalone) enable audio chat for 10 people in a group...but - without the external Spreed HPB - video chat is effectively only for up to 3-4 people in a group.
Ditto for Kopano Meet without their external Kopano Boost SFU.

Nextcloud 21 is out@girish @nebulon For users who are using Nextcloud + Nextcloud Talk for remote, collaborative work, the two Nextcloud HPB's (the Spreed SFU/ signalling HPB + this new notifications HPB binary) are very important.
My largest (non-Cloudron) Nextcloud has 22 remote users; the Spreed SFU (available as-a-service for 40 euro per month) enables them to hold their all-hands Monday video meetings. They love the new notifications binary too because it makes the Nextcloud Talk notifications "instantaneous"... especially, when receiving a call, etc. They are now doing many group audio calls.
With these two HPB's enabled, Nextcloud is arguably the best, open source, self-hostable, remote-work collaboration tool available today. Without them....well, it great for managing files....like Owncloud, Pydio, etc.
If Cloudron devs intend their Nextcloud installation to be used for collaborative, remote work, then the notifications HPB binary needs to be enabled by default. It requires a decent amount of of server-side jugglery.
